London Sights Day 1: Buckingham Palace by Jarno en Collin


Buckingham Palace
Buckingham Palace is the home for the British Royal family. If the Queen’s present, the normal flag will be raised. If the Queen’s not present, the Union Jack will be raised half stick. It has been build by John Sheffield in 1703. He was the  Duke of Buckingham. The original name is Buckingham House. In 1762, king George III bought the building and in 1837 he building was getting used as home for the Royal family. The first royal who stayed at the residence was queen Victoria. Buckingham Palace has 775 rooms and 78 bathrooms. The building has 1514 rooms and 760 windows. The area of the Palace is 77.000 square meters. It is also famous because of the changing of the guards. It always happens at 12.00pm. 300 people work there every day in Buckingham Palace.
